Round Vase — Ribbed | Oukan
Description
Oukan, a round vase, forms a rounded vase from broad, curving ribs with generous spaces between them. The ribs sweep outward around the body and cross as they return toward the neck, creating elongated diamonds within the open outline.
Its structure is easy to follow because the elements are widely spaced. Curves on the outside give the vase its fullness, while the pointed intersections add a geometric rhythm through the center. The open framework makes stems part of the visible composition rather than hiding them behind a continuous outer surface. The parallel relief gives this ribbed vase a changing pattern of highlights, so a ribbed flower vase arrangement stays interesting even with only a few dry stems.
Style Oukan with dried branches or artificial flowers whose stems contribute to the arrangement. A few deliberate lines can be more effective here than a densely packed bunch. Place the vase against a plain background and leave its rounded sides exposed, allowing the crossing ribs, open spaces, and floral elements to be appreciated together. When arranging decorative vases for living room shelves, let the container set the proportions of the table vase decor around it. Treat Oukan as a sculptural vase in its own right, giving it the same breathing room you would reserve for other unique vases.
