Ribbed Vase — Geometric | Busen
Description
Busen is a tall ribbed vase with a full upper body and a gradual taper toward the bottom. Broad ribs sweep around the rounded shoulders and gather beneath the short neck. Deep vertical channels give each rib a clear outline and emphasize the length of the form.
Its proportions put the fullest part higher on the body, creating a different balance from a vase that is widest near the base. The curved ribs describe this shift, widening near the shoulders before narrowing below. A slight angle within your display helps show their projection and the spaces between them. The relief makes this textured vase read as an abstract vase as well as a container, particularly when light falls across the surface from one side.
Try Busen with airy dried flowers or artificial foliage that spreads above the neck. Keeping the shoulder area visible lets the vase and arrangement form one continuous composition, while the long tapered body provides a strong vertical accent underneath. A light dry arrangement turns Busen into a flower vase for office shelves, while the table flower vase itself supplies the main decorative detail. Treat Busen as a sculptural vase in its own right, giving it the same breathing room you would reserve for other unique vases.
