Ribbed Vase — Botanical Sculptural | Calyra
Description
Calyra, a ribbed vase, presents a ribbed central vessel surrounded by tall, pointed fins. The outer elements curve outward like opening leaves or petals, creating a layered botanical silhouette around the more tightly gathered form in the middle.
Vertical ribs connect the visual language of the center and the surrounding fins. The lower section stays narrow, while the outer tips widen the profile partway up and reveal spaces between the layers. This gives Calyra a flower-like shape of its own, even before stems are added to the central opening. The parallel relief gives this ribbed vase a changing pattern of highlights, so a ribbed flower vase arrangement stays interesting even with only a few dry stems.
Try a few dried flowers or artificial sprigs that extend the central bud without hiding the pointed outer leaves. The vase can also stand alone as a botanical sculpture on an open shelf. Give the projecting fins some room on either side, and keep nearby objects simple so the relationship between the inner vessel and outer layers remains easy to see.
