Sculptural Planter — Scale Texture | Dragon Scale
Description
Dragon Scale is a sculptural planter covered with strongly projecting, pointed scale-like forms. The elements repeat around a rounded body, creating a dense pattern that also changes the outer silhouette. Their angular faces give the design a more pronounced relief than a fine, close-set scale texture.
The scales catch light along their edges while darker recesses separate neighboring shapes. This makes the repeated geometry visible from a distance as well as at close range. The fuller middle and narrower upper opening gather the pointed pattern into a compact form. The form makes Dragon Scale a sculptural planter that can hold its place in an arrangement even before the plant fills out; this sculpture planter keeps the container part of the composition.
Dragon Scale suits a plant display with a fantasy-inspired or strongly geometric character. Broader leaves can balance the sharp surface elements, while open stems expose more of the relief. Leave space around the sides to show the projecting scales clearly. For a collection of unique planters, keep the planting simple enough for the shape to show; unusual plant pots work best when their defining details remain visible. Pair these decorative flower pots with restrained plant containers so that the main surface pattern remains easy to see.
Select the drainage option when you want a planter with drainage, and match the growing medium to your plant just as you would for other plant pots with drainage. For the Outdoor finish, choose a black planter to coordinate with similar accents, or a white planter to change the contrast around the same sculpted form.
