Sculptural Planter | Virus
Description
Virus, a sculptural planter, combines a rounded planter silhouette with an irregular field of elongated, wave-like cells. The cellular relief sweeps across the body and meets larger smooth areas, creating a contrast between open-looking texture and an uninterrupted curved surface. The rounded outline brings these different treatments together within one compact shape.
The cells vary in width and direction rather than forming a uniform grid. Their raised borders create a changing outline that becomes more apparent when the pot is viewed from an angle. The smooth sections are an intentional part of this contrast. The form makes Virus a sculptural planter that can hold its place in an arrangement even before the plant fills out; this sculpture planter keeps the container part of the composition.
Give Virus enough space for its mixed surfaces to be seen. A simple stand or clear tabletop keeps attention on the rounded profile, while lightly branching greenery complements the irregular movement of the exterior. For a collection of unique planters, keep the planting simple enough for the shape to show; unusual plant pots work best when their defining details remain visible.
For succulent pots, choose drainage and a size suited to the roots; the same model can serve as a cactus plant pot when the growing conditions suit the plant. Choose the opening option when comparing plant pots with drainage holes, then treat the selected drainage pot as part of the plant’s regular watering routine. Select the hole-and-tray option for a plant pot with saucer, matching the plant pot and saucer combination to the surface where it will be displayed. For the Outdoor finish, choose a blue planter to coordinate with similar accents, or a green planter to change the contrast around the same sculpted form.
